The students that I work with come from a low social economic area. Many of them have move around a lot and are behind academically. They come from homes with limited resources and an environment not conducive to rich language development. They are attending a school where more than 90% of the population receive free lunch. Many of them are hard working and have not given up yet despite the challenges/obstacles they face outside of the school setting.
