Many of the students I teach are from homes without technology & parental support. I've had students who didn't have electricity before. My students live in a rural community, many of them talk about food stamps & the money their parents get from the government and how their family depend on it. We often hold clothing drives and different outfitting programs (like for shoes) to help our students gain the things they need. I also have multiple students in my class who are very bright, but don't have enough to eat at home one the weekends so we sent home sacks of food in their backpack with them through our backpacks program on Friday afternoons. Our school is a very small school, PreK-12. Our school is a Title 1 school with the majority of our students on free/reduced lunch.
