My students live in a high poverty area in an urban city. Our school is 90% HIspanic with many first and second year students who have never been to a bookstore. Having this table and chairs available to all students symbolizes how we want them to get the feeling of reading in a bookstore and the warmth that provides. When students are reading comfortably, they will feel comfortable reading.
