The school where we are at is a Title I school, meaning that at least 50% of our student population receives free and reduced lunch services. The 22 incoming third graders to my classroom are going to be an incredible group of kiddos! They come from very diverse homes, cultures, and backgrounds. One thing that is very evident about this group is that they are ready for their new challenge of being 3rd graders! I work hard to build a strong, caring community that strives to improve everyday. My classroom motto is a quote from Aristotle: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit." Day in and day out, I challenge my students to take that to heart. From what I have observed, my future students are ready and willing to become the excellent students that I ask them to be! My goal as their teacher is to create lessons that are both relevant and engaging. There is nothing more satisfying as an educator than to see my students enjoying their learning everyday.
