The watercolors and paintbrushes will help foster creativity and expression. By painting, we will incorporate critical thinking as we embed art in other curriculum such as science, math, and writing. "Art has the role in education of helping children become more like themselves instead of more like everyone else." - Sydeny Gurewitz Clemens. Students use paints to illustrate science concepts, story mapping, and math problems. It gives then an engaging way to learn and explain what they know. It never ceases to amaze me when I hear my students "ooh" and "aah" when they are painting! I have heard students say, "This is the best day ever!"
