My students and I spend our day at a small charter school, located in a lower-income neighborhood in New York. Every morning my students walk in with smiles on their faces and are bubbling with energy, ready to start the day! I have future artists, writers, scientists, caregivers, mathematicians, engineers, and politicians in my classroom. All day they inspire me with their curiosity and the innate love that they have for learning. Just as I challenge them to grow as scholars, they challenge me to grow as a teacher. Every day, no matter what kind of day we had, I smile because I know we all learned and grew together as a classroom family.
