We are a Title 1 school boasting a high percentage of economically disadvantaged students. Many of my students receive free lunch and cannot afford to pay for a simple 6th grade class t-shirt. My families are hard working, want the best for their kids, but must place putting "food on the table" as their primary goal. My goal in math is to prepare students using real world experiences. I foster an open, democratic classroom and allow students to use their minds to solve the problems facing them.
