I have students who have previously struggled to enjoy reading, but have now begun to find authors and series that captivate them. We have worked on strengthening their "reading muscles" so they are reading chapter books for 30-40 minutes daily. It is not uncommon for me to say, "It's Independent Reading Time" and many of them respond with "Yesssssss!" They love entering their "reading bubble" and look forward to "living" in their books during their daily reading time.
