I teach in a high poverty area where majority of my students are on free/reduced lunch. I have a great group of 50 students who are hungry for learning. I teach them to believe that they are kings and queens of their learning. They struggle to make connections with the way math is being taught and their real world. I would like to fill in the deficits in their mathematical foundations. I have a group of special education students that come in for inclusion during math/science/social studies. They work hard and offering time on the iPad mini would be a priceless reward. We are a school of leadership and the students will be responsible for ensuring the iPad minis are being used for enrichment or remediation. Accountability partners will be parent volunteers and their peers.
