I am trying to get rekenreks for my team to use to implement math talks which are part of Common Core. The project will cost approximately $800, which is impossible to do on my own. That's why I need help. My students are in a Title I school located in Manatee County, Florida where funding for materials is limited. 62% of my students are English language learners who need hands-on activities for understanding. It is important for us to use tools that allow for movement and visual representation during math time. Hands-on activities also increase student engagement. Students see these activities as fun which increases their ability to attend and learn.
