Many of my students are visual and kinesthetic learners who need to see how things are graphed by their own doing. Our current calculators are broken-- be it because of buttons that do not work, software that refuses to update, batteries that never charge, etc. These calculators are the tools we need to better understand how functions work. My students learn that functions represent stories and think critically about which function would represent certain stories of their lives. These calculators allow hem to interact with functions in meaningful ways, especially in using regressions to determine the "line of best fit" for a story.
