My request for a large, area rug comes from many of my students who prefer to sit on the floor to read, brainstorm ideas and to often work collaboratively on projects. We have great table space, but tables and chairs do not meet the needs of all of my students for the entire school day. This rug will also serve as a "meeting" spot for mini lessons, read-a-loud, or small group work away from others. We are very fortunate to have the beautiful school that we do, but like many floors in Vermont, ours is often gritty and cold. Students will enjoy this new space for reading and meeting with peers!
