I am new to my school this year AND I teach in of the poorest school districts in the state of Texas. Our school is very small but the kids don't want to be treated like they are from the "sticks"! My students are from very low income families. They face many challenges both inside and away from the classroom. They are living in an era of technology - everywhere but at school. We can't afford the things we need to accomplish the "era of technology." I have been able to witness their creativity and love of learning flourish as they research, organize and create projects in my room. Being new to the district, and it being only my 2nd year teaching - I don't have technology available for hands-on learning. BUT my students want to learn through technology. This project will help me get on the technology road!
