I teach at a Title 1 school in East Texas. Many of my students are low socioeconomic students who do not have access to basic items. Unfortunately, this tends to effect them most in the area of reading. Without access to books, computers, or other various technology methods, they are struggling to keep up. Over the course of my teaching career, I have seen students make tremendous growth by listening to reading in the listening center. The listening center that we currently have had headphones with cords on them. The students love this center, but often loose time untangling cords to use the headphones.
