Students will select one of the novels from this project to analyze how an individual overcomes tremendous odds. They will identify social and emotional needs of the main character and how the character was able to meet those needs or what the character could have done to increase their mental health in dire situations. They will create book projects that illustrate what social and emotional needs were present within their chosen novel. Learning through the experiences of others will create more empathetic, intelligent, and well-rounded students. The selected novels cover a wide variety of genres to appeal to all audiences within the classroom.

About my class
