My students need access to technology to help make history engaging and exciting. I want to purchase 6 Kindle Fires with protective cases to incorporate technology into my classroom. Our students will use these tablets to complete interactive class activities, complete research projects, and learn the 21st century technological skills they need to be successful later in life. Currently, student access to technology at the school is limited to computer lab time that is solely dedicated to test preparation. To be successful in later grades and later on in life, students must be prepared to use technology effectively. The tablets will allow the students to complete group research assignments effectively in class. They also allow me to differentiate instruction, establish learning centers and utilize programs like Socrative, Kahoot, and Quizlet to increase student engagement.
