My students are kindergarten through second grade students with Moderate to Profound Autism. At this time, they are all non-verbal or have limited functional communication skills. Our class, in addition to teaching academic skills, is focused on language, social skills acquisition, and functional skills acquisition. Students in my class are highly reliant on visual cues, visual schedules, and picture communication to interact successfully in the school and community setting.
