My students are very creative and enjoy free movement. In order to bring out their creativity, students are required to take off their shoes and socks. This allows students to feel free to move around the room without limitations on their bodies. The dance room has hard, tile floor, which gets cold during the winter months. Students often prefer to keep their socks on which becomes a safety hazard due to slippery floors. Without socks, my students become uncomfortable and choose to sit out. I want my students to get the full experience of free movement without any boundaries. Using these gripper socks will allow them to feel more comfortable and maintain safety in the dance room.
