I have 6 children in my classroom with autism. We vary in grades 1-3 but teach on a kindergarten level because of cognitive delays. We attend a public school that specializes in only severe special education students with autism or emotional disturbances. Many of the children can't talk, and we use picture symbols to communicate. They get very frustrated when they can't speak and being able to print symbols would greatly help us communicate.
