I work with a number of students that have difficulty reading many of them hate to even look at a book. They are often fidgety and a number of them have exceptionalities that make it hard to stay still and focus. Often, they criticize themselves and say they are not smart because of these concerns. They are stereotyped by their peers and at times will emulate that stereotype as a result of giving up on themselves. Right now I am doing everything I can to make curriculum more accessible for these students. This includes having the right technology to allow lessons to be more interactive. With the help of Microsoft touch screen technology and the ability to move around the school without being attached to a docking station, I can reach more students and teachers to help make learning more accessible for all.
