I teach 32 fourth graders in a self-contained classroom. My students come from many different backgrounds (a large number being Hispanic, Punjabi, African American and Asian) and varying family structures. They are 9 and 10 year-old children who will one day make a huge impact on our world. I have taught for over 25 years, and can honestly say that I have never had a group of children more eager to learn and soak up new information. These students come to school prepared and willing to take on the challenges set before them. I am trying to raise the bar, because they are willing to jump over it.
