ALASKA ~ I have 25 wonderful 2nd grade students. They are excited about learning and they love Fridays! Every Friday is Art Day in my classroom. My students learn about different artists, different art styles and techniques, and a variety of art mediums. My students enter my classroom thinking art is coloring, cutting, and gluing. By the end of 2nd grade my students are excited about art and want to continue to grow and develop their own art styles and techniques. Their excitement is contagious! I learn so much from everyone of my students. They are all very creative and it comes to them easily! As Pablo Picasso said, Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." I want to help them on that journey!
