I teach the best students in the Baltimore City Schools! But even though they are students who have fought hard to earn a spot in our competitive STEM school, so many of them come from homes without the technology needed to help them be competitive in this digital age. Our school has had to prioritize funding for teaching positions, and funding for materials like computers is scarce. In my library, we just this year replaced computers that were 9 years old! My students have so much creativity, but we need the resources to help them realize their vision. One iMac may not seem like much, but it will double our resources and help our students edit their video documentaries and film projects for local, state and national competitions.
