I am requesting numerous different items that can help soothe the overstimulation that my students experience because of their heightened senses. Items such as the Wobble Chair and the Disc ‘o’ sit provide vestibular stimulation for students who have a hard time sitting in a regular classroom chair. The weighted vests and pillows can help facilitate increased focus, concentration, and body awareness. The sensory feedback from all of these items will be very calming for my students and help them to experience success! It will help them organize the sensory information from all of their senses without feeling overwhelmed. In turn, this will enable my students to have more appropriate behavioral responses.
