As a second grade teacher during this unprecedented time, I am simultaneously aiming to keep my students engaged in a new way of learning, while maintaining classroom routines that provide a sense of security. I will use this easel as I would have in the classroom, during shared lessons in reading, writing and math. The easel will be a familiar learning tool for students as we work together to produce sentences, paragraphs or number problems. The reality of working with an easel is one that will allow me to organize teaching materials and add color, images, or pre-made charts to efficiently differentiate virtual lessons for students.
