These K-11 students come from households where art supplies are not always a number one priority but the interest in art is there. They have never had a full-time art teacher and have had limited expose to the arts. They are like sponges soaking up the information and techniques I have presented. As a public school our funding is limited. The students have just moved into a building instead of classrooms in trailers. The cost of opening up a new building and a new art program has left the students with minimal supplies and/or not enough of the right items to complete basic projects. These supplies will allow the students to open up and let the inner artist out through painting.
