Most of my students are from impoverished homes, some are homeless, and others are unfamiliar with the world of books. Many do not read at home, and some have never read an entire book from cover to cover. Others do not check out books from the school library. Although we have a great tradition of reading at our school, some students simply haven't experienced the joy of reading a good book. Despite these circumstances, my students are motivated to do well and have enjoyed much success.
