My school is located in an urban district and draws from many different neighborhoods. The majority of my students come from a wealthier neighborhood. My students are motivated and dedicated to their studies. Many of my students are seniors who have already taken BC Calculus or are dual enrolled in both Statistics and BC Calculus. I also have several juniors who are taking Statistics along with PreAP PreCalculus this year. I have a handful of students who have come from Algebra 2 or Advanced Quantitative Reasoning (without seeing PreCalculus). All these students are able to be successful in Statistics since most of the concepts are knew to everyone in the class. The wide range of mathematical backgrounds leads to very rich discussions. Some students are very focused on the mathematical calculations while others are more focused on the psychological aspect of statistics. The questions my students ask continue to make me think and research the answers to their questions.
