Headphones would make certain assessment goals more attainable for my students and provide them with better academic experience. Many of the programs our district has adopted require students to read aloud to the computer or be able to hear the program. For example, our district adopted the reading assessment program Amira. This program requires students to read aloud to the computer. The program then reviews the student’s performance and will provide data. The data from this program is valuable when filling educational gaps between students. It allows me to individualize a student’s educational experience. Headphones with mics are a necessity to obtain accurate data. It also allows for a distraction free environment.
