My students are a dynamic group of 9-10 year-old energetic, thinkers who constantly push themselves to "go beyond Z" every single day! "Going beyond Z" (Dr. Seuss reference) means pushing past the last letter in the alphabet to create your own dreams through questioning, problem-solving and most importantly having the grit to never, ever give up on yourself! This classroom motto defines what we do everyday in our room. Our school is located in inner-city Houston and we officially became a Blue Ribbon school in 2011. We are exceedingly proud of this accomplishment and our students push themselves to be the best despite the adverse circumstances some of them may face. At LES, excellence is expected and we are ensuring academic success everyday with exceptional teaching and learning.
