My students are highly motivated movers who enjoy coming to physical education class to not only be active, but to also learn health and wellness concepts that will benefit them into adult hood. My school is a community in which teachers, administration, and parents work together to provide the best education possible for the students. Educating the whole child is our goal. We stress academics while also meeting the social-emotional and creative needs of our students. The population of my school has changed quite a bit since I began teaching there 13 years ago. The number of students receiving free or reduced lunch has quadrupled in that time and yet we remain a non Title 1 school, which means we do not qualify for federal Title money. This puts my school at a disadvantage with other schools in the same school district.
