I am requesting individual writing journals for structured daily writing. Daily, frequent writing in a personal journal is essential to build upon pre-writing skills, to advancing skills to become a proficient writer, with ease and confidence. Class opening bell assignment, always has a discussion, talking point based on class learning objectives. Students will use the structured sentence starter frame to engage academic discussions with their 'Learning Partner'. After partner discussion, the class engages in a 'Learning Circle' where, very quickly, the discussion travels around the room from student to student, each stating their sentence. Then, everyone writes their sentence, followed by peer edit with learning partner.
