We are a medium sized middle school, about 800 students. I teach 240 7th grade science students over six periods. We reside in a middle class community but also serve students outside our community, mainly through the NCLB (no child left behind) directive. Our classes are collaborative push-ins - all special education need students attend general education classes so we serve a multiple of needs in our classroom, including many students who are English Language Learners (ELL). Our school is a California Distinguished School and we promote positive character develop programs that take the focus off negative behaviors. The faculty is highly collaborative and enjoy learning right along with our students.
