Bringing these games and activities to my students will give the opportunity to learn and play these popular lawn games that they often see in every park and beach across the world. Many of my students come from low-income neighborhoods and cannot afford these games on their own. Having these games in our physical education program not only allows them to feel comfortable playing them on their own, we can show them ways to play them outside of school with friends and family.
I want to give my students every opportunity to succeed outside of school with their general and physical education. Being able to live a healthy lifestyle outside of school is one of our main goals this school year.
The lawn games unit will offer a variety of games to my students as well as enhance learning abilities, boost creativity, help them acquire social skills, improve their attention spans, and attain much needed motor skills. These are only some of the benefits my students will get by learning and participating in the lawn games unit.
