I am a second grade teacher to 23 students. I teach at a school with 745 students in a coastal community. We have a diverse population of students: English language learners, GATE students, students with special needs (academic and behavior). The students in my classroom are technology saavy. They are used to using computers, iPads, and cell phones at home both for recreational and educational activities. By allowing them to use this listening center in Reading and Writing Workshop I will not only be assisting them with their reading and writing fluency and strengthening their literary skills, but I will also be teaching them technology. Teaching technology is important as our computer instructors were just cut.
