My students are eager to learn, but often do not have the supplies that are needed for them at their learning level. Many of my students come from an extremely disadvantaged neighborhood and do not have learning materials to use at home. The students in my classroom want to learn. They read at the beginning of the day, when transitioning in the hallway to another activity and during an independent reading time. Unfortunately, my classroom lacks materials for my students to use that will help them grow as learners.
