"I was learning and it felt great." - The Grouch. My name is Ms. Howard-Gibbon and I am a fourth grade teacher at a public elementary school in a low-income high-crime neighborhood. I am passionate about education and love my job. I feel fortunate to be in a profession that mobilizes and engages the youth, while also expands my understanding of the world and enables me to be an active participant in my community. My school services students from pre-school to sixth grade. Many of the students also attend the After School Program on campus. All students qualify for free/reduced lunch. Demographically, the school is about 80 percent Latino and the remaining 20 percent is African American. Most of my students are English Language Learners.
