Building a library of magazines allows the student to be engaged with smaller chunks of information that allow them to build their knowledge base from reading non-fiction. These magazines will be used within my classroom and will be allowed to be checked out as with the rest of my classroom library books. This will allow students who are working from home to have access to these as well. Students need to have access to different types of reading materials to help them build skills in not only reading but also building background knowledge and writing skills. The more you read, the more you gain. With this project, I want to provide options to our classroom library to help build the skills of my students. The skills associated with reading impact the student beyond the classroom.
