Students are 21st century learners. This means that students need to be able to become critical thinkers, problem - solve, and collaborate with their peers. Students need to feel as if they matter and have a say in their learning process. Allowing students to learn in a flexible and creative space environment will make students feel as if their learning is meaningful and matters to them. This is an inclusion class of 45 5th grade students. Lap desks will help support different learning styles. Students will be able to choose their own seating and use the lap desks which will allow them work independently and creatively. This will give students a sense of choice and ownership and make them want to produce quality work.
