Although some students have support, many students come to school without an advocate from home that prepares them to come to school ready to learn. Some students have no books or technology at home. Many of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Our school has many programs: Extended Resource, Resource, English Language Learners, Title 1, and Extended Preschool. We use a push-in model to support many of our students with special needs. Our crowded second grades have 25 students in each class. Yet, our school functions like a big family that seeks to create and support the learning environment of each child: That is one reason this gift is so exciting! Teachers here love the challenge of meeting needs and helping students grow as productive-learning citizens.
