I teach 5th grade SEI (Structured English Immersion). The area around the school is a "high need" community and highly transient community, especially in these tough economic times. But it is also a dynamic and vibrant community. My classroom includes African American, Latino, Fijian, Samoan, Hawaiian, and Vietnamese students. Our school has made exceptional academic gains in the last four years and outperforms most other California schools with similar demographics.

About my class
