Change classroom photo
We can be found in one of the poorest cities in the smallest state in the Union. Do not pity us, because we will be leaving this classroom to change the world.......... we have taken an oath to make it a better place for ourselves, our children and for those we will never meet. Our school is 96% poverty level with very little school supplies and 27 students (4th and 5th graders along with ELL's). Each day we learn how we can change our future! In the next 160 or so days we will research income levels and success in school as it correlates to amount of reading done in 5th grade. Students will travel around the world as part of a Geography unit to see where they WILL travel as an adult, and they will go back in time to gain EMPATHY of people in our history and how they faced adversity to became successful parts of society. This research and goal setting will both empower them as well as give them the confidence to continue after they leave this class.
