My passion is for every student to feel safe socially and emotionally in my room. My class will feel at home and at ease with flexible seating and writing tools that are designed with them in mind. Students love to connect to literature and poetry in powerful ways. However, some students need extra supports to ensure a rich, learning environment. With fidget tools, social/emotional lessons, flexible seating choices, cool pens, and books that deal with emotional topics, my students will thrive in my room. Additionally, my students will have a choice in their learning and their environment. Both of which are important especially to my middle school learners in my ELA classroom. With writing and listening, my students will have a culturally responsive classroom that will support all students.
