My students attend a public Title I school in Harlem in New York City. They are special needs students with learning disabilities. They are in kindergarten and first grade. The majority of my students come from low-income families. My students love to learn in hands-on, sensory ways and the classroom environment plays a BIG part in this. They also need an environment where they feel safe and secure to explore new activities. My students love to read, sing, dance, make art, play music, and study science through hands-on experiments.
