I teach 20 third graders in an elementary school in Indiana. We are a well rounded and diverse group of eight and nine year olds who love to learn, and love to read. My students attend a public, Title I (lower income) school. Most of my students come from single parent homes, or from homes of parents working two and three jobs just to make ends meet. These setbacks and obstacles do not stop my students; it seems they are more motivated than most children to learn, make a difference, and succeed. They want more for themselves, and so do I!
