My school's student population is almost entirely on the free and reduced lunch program, almost a quarter of the student population is in special education programs. We are underprivileged but we are not underachievers. We have just received an API score of 791 despite the challenges facing our school. Our school is a very small, only about 300 students, and in that environment the peer relationship is such that they truly thrive on collaboration. They come from a strong sense of community and friendship, and their education stands to benefit from it.
