To help my students learn during the pandemic, I could use some supplies for our music classroom. To make my lessons more engaging, I would love for my students to make music using "real instruments". During the pandemic, each student was given a "music kit" that held various items for them to use in music class. We recycled Easter eggs into shakers, pool noodles into scrapers, and small dowel rods into rhythm sticks. These have worked great, but there's nothing like playing the real thing! I would love to get my students more percussion instruments and two glockenspiels to see, touch and play. We do not have many "real" instruments for them to explore and experience. Most of the few instruments that we do have are very old and worn out. We were able to buy a few more small instruments (triangles, boom-whackers) last year, but not enough for all of our students in a class to play at one time. It makes such a huge difference when my students get to play real, professionally made instruments. I love to see my student's eyes light up and the excitement in their voices. Their approach to making music is so much more intense!
