I work in the South Bronx in the poorest congressional district and 100% of my students receive free lunch. My class of 12 special education students are a high energy and enthusiastic bunch. Donations to this project will help me to buy a large and colorful classroom rug where my students can spread out comfortably with a book. I know that if I could change their physical experience of reading then their mental mindset would be sure to follow.
