From a demographics standpoint, my students are living in poverty, and many of them are ESOL students, with English levels from 2 to 4. The majority of the students I teach are on the free and reduced lunch program at our school, but they never let that get in the way of their learning. From an individual standpoint, my students are inspiring, amazing, invigorating. My students love making learning fun, whether that means creating games, teaching one another, or visualizing new words through drawing. They inspire me to make learning more fun and to give them my best lesson every day. I would not be the teacher I am today without my inspirational students. I want to give my students everything I have, but unfortunately, I can't afford to keep sneaking portions of my paycheck to snacks, rewards, and instructional items. It's my turn to ask for help. It's my turn to teach my students that it's okay to ask for help. If we give the world our best, it may someday give us something in return.
