I teach in a suburban public school in NC with a wide range of ethnic groups and socio economic backgrounds. Some of our students come from households where they do not have a lot of money and from households where English is not the primary language spoken. Therefore, based on their background, some students are having difficulties meeting grade level in the area of English language arts. When teaching my kids in school, some have not experienced much outside of their small town and don't have a lot of real world background knowledge.

About my class
